Okay i've found out now that who gets to be shaman is slightly more complicated. If you are due to be shaman again (highest score) but you have recently (probably x turns) been shaman it is held off.
If you've been held off once, it seems like you will have to wait for a shaman battle (where you become the pink mouse) until you get to be shaman again. This means a mouse with highest score might have to wait 20 maps or more before spawning as a shaman.
Some members of Room ffacepunch (research) have suggested that the score is in fact how many mice babies you get as shaman. OH MY F- --Erik McClure 10:25, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Anyone want to add info on these new updates, and link the totems page? (anonymous)
