This page is an official policy on Transformice Wiki.
It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that all users should follow. Please use the talk page to propose changes.

Requests for adminships (TW:RFA) is the process by which the Transformice Wiki decides who will become an administrator. Administrators are users trusted with access to certain tools. They may edit and move protected pages, delete and undelete pages, as well as block and unblock users.

They are expected to

  • Observe a high standard of conduct and use the tools fairly
  • Never to use their powers to gain advantage in a dispute
  • Move along requests in due course
  • Have good judgment, and to have considered carefully any actions or decisions they carry out as administrators
  • Never use their powers for evil

How to gain adminship

Nomination

Users are nominated for adminship by themselves or other users, though it should be noted what other users might think of self-nominations. All nominations should show that the nominated user has both the desire and ability to improve the wiki, and will do so with administrative powers. After nominating a user, add {{Nominated}} to their talk page to inform them of the nomination.

The nominated user is then expected to accept or decline their nomination. Declining a nomination automatically ends the process.

Voting

Users may vote to Support, Oppose, or remain Neutral to the user's nomination. The nominated user is not allowed to vote for himself or herself. However, the nominator, if he or she not also the nominee, may vote. This vote is optional: one will be tallied even if he or she does not vote.

Users will discuss whether the nominated user deserves adminship and should read carefully and throughly the discussion, votes, and nomination statement. They may reply to another user's vote if they feel that it requires clarification or is unjustified. Users may change their vote at anytime during the voting period.

Approval/Denial

When it has been decided that sufficient amount of time has elapsed and votes accumulated, a bureaucrat will close the voting and approve or deny the nomination.

If, however, the the nominee has been found guilty of attempting to cheat the nomination process, he or she will receive a warning and will be withdrawn from the RFA process. Cheating includes sockpuppetry, the usage of an alternative account to support one's own nomination; meatpuppetry, the recruitment of new members to support the nomination; and modification of the votes and discussion of other users in favor of the nomination.

Example Nomination

This is an example nomination. Please do not add further "votes" to it.

Mister Example (talk contribs block logs)

I would like to nominate Mister Example for administrator. He has done a lot of work for the wiki and shows consistently good judgement. Mister example was the one who reorganized the category pages and created numerous templates, helped numerous newbies, and has constantly reported things to admins that he very well should be able to do himself. --Denominator 3:11, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:
I wholeheartedly accept this. --Mister Example 12:34, 16 July 2010

Discussion

There's a lot of debate on whether your revision of the mice page was necessary. You seem to do a lot of things without confirming it with the other users - things that can be highly debatable. I'm worried this may transfer to your actions as an administrator. --Pen 11:11, 17 July 2010

I felt that there was a consensus that the page was messy and uninformed and took the liberty of saving it. Nobody told me that they liked the page as is. --Mister Example 12:34, 16 July 2010

  1. Tango Tick0.png Neutral. - Mister Example shows that he can be a huge asset to the wiki but I don't know the extent of his occasional hotheadedness. --Nomdeplume 6:66, 19 July 2010

Today I look at this wiki and I ask my self how can I really help? what more can I do? and I came to a conclusion that the best way to help out is to gain a higher status, which will allow me to help other people with current problems such as being banned by accident (yes this has happened to me), allow me to block spam accounts, delete pages, which will not help this wiki nor transformice nor people, which may use this application and in general just to be another person to come to for help. I have been around long enough to get the idea of how wiki runs and I have also hosted some of my own wikis(and I am a very experienced coder), I contribute what I believe is needed and I delete what I believe is non-beneficial to Transformice Wiki, I am checking every day for spam and other requests and I am easy to communicate with(especially via email). I am the proud creator of the Anti Spam Committee. I have helped out a lot with the current wave of spam attacks, but I feel that to really get to my full potential I need to be upgraded to a higher status to be able to help control and hopefully stop these spammers. thank you for your time --FireJack 03:35, 10 February 2011 (EST)

I would like to nominate myself for admin. I am an active user and would like to help against the recent spam attack. Also I would like to clean up the unused files. Now I'm mainly helping with the speed records and reverting vandalism edits. With this nomination I hope I could contribute more to the wiki! - CirKel 09:47, 6 February 2011 (EST)
