Dancing
Dancing is the act of moving your mouse in creative ways, including ducking and jumping, that has entered common usage in Transformice. Most of the time dancing is only used in good humor or as a time killer. Many users enjoy dancing or watching others dance, but other become frustrated with dancers who they feel waste time. Trolls often annoy people with dancing, by ducking or headbanging constantly as a sign that they won't budge.
Many of these are the result of animation locking, where your mouse will stop moving its feet and slide when the Duck (Down) button is pressed during a jump.

[edit] /dance
As part of the July 29, 2010 update /dance command was made creating a new way for mice to boogie down. This emote is also available at the press of the pretty pink dress button.
[edit] Moonwalking
Moonwalking is one of the hallmarks of Transformice dancing.
[edit] Headbanging
Headbanging is an incredibly simple method of dancing. All one must do to achieve a headbang is to tap the down arrow key or the S key. Headbanging just once, however, is never enough. Headbanging in rapid succession can be interpreted in quite a few ways:
- You're a troll and you want to indicate that you aren't moving.
- You're bored and want to have something to occupy your time.
- You're trying to get someone to move in the direction you're headbanging in.
- You freaking love death metal.
- You're insinuating something sexually. (Especially when done directly behind another mouse.)
- You're trying to dodge a trolling shaman's object(s). (Occasional, but mostly restricted to troll rooms.)
- You're trying to catch someones attention
- You're taunting the shaman with a "Throw everything you got at me"
- Someone is AFK (away from keyboard) and you are hoping this will get them to wake up.
- You are headbanging with some other mouse/ mice.
[edit] Breakdance
Breakdance/Hip Hop Dance is slightly harder than Headbanging. Just press the dance button and down or s alternately.
[edit] Ducksliding
Ducksliding is the act of moving your mouse while displaying the ducking animation, as opposed to the running animation. Ducksliding is a simpler, forward version of moonwalking, and a version of being a monorail mouse while not necessarily being at the end of the ducking animation.
- Jump.
- Tap down in the air quickly.
- Immediately hold either of the directional arrow keys.
To turn, jump first and turn in midair.
The cheese will not be visible on a mouses back if they touch it while ducksliding, but the "smoke" will appear around the mouse, showing that the mouse has indeed acquired the cheese. The mouse may enter the mousehole, despite that the animation is locked in a no-cheese state.
[edit] Monorail Mouse
The monorail mouse is a form of dancing, and a version of ducksliding. The difference is that the mouse continues to duck while sliding, instead of standing up. It is considered one of the easiest dances possible.
- Jump.
- In midair, hold the down key.
- While the down is is still held, hold either the left or right arrow key.
[edit] Leapmouse
Leapmouse is a dance derived from "leapfrog", a children's game in which players vault over each others stooped backs. In leapmouse, the first participant ducks while the next jumps over him, immediately ducking so that the first mouse can, in turn, leap over him or her. When another leap would cause a mouse to fall off the side of the map or bump into a wall, the mice leap in the other direction.
Leapmouse is most commonly played with only two mice, but a longer line can be formed, with some difficulty, in which the last mouse in the line jumps over a row of ducking mice one by one. Games of leapmouse are common on the Draggable Ice map and other maps with a long flat platform and extra time with little else to do.
[edit] Dance slide
The dance slide is a dance in which the mouse is dancing with the /dance command and sliding, as if moonwalking or ducksliding.
Instructions:
- Hold either direction key
- With the key still held, press the dance button.
- Continue moving
This relies on the fact that moving and entering into the chat panel will cause your mouse to continue moving as if the arrow key was still held. Typing /dance changes the animation, but the mouse is still "running" in the direction of the arrow key that was held. Jumping or moving anything on the screen, however, will show that you are no longer chatting, and will cause your danceslide to stop. This can be used with other emoticons - like /cry and /laugh.
[edit] Dance line
Dance line is a form of dancing that requires multiple mice. As one mouse shouts "DANCE LINE" the rest of the mice must go next to him and start dancing (/dance). Dance lines usually begin with "noob shamans" and when there's nothing to do. Dance Lines can only be done with long stretches of land. It's also best if you have more than 10 mice, otherwise they don't look so effective.
[edit] Siamese Mouse/Handspring
This dance makes you look like you're a Siamese mouse with a mouse coming out of your back pulling you while you duck, or looks like you're doing a backwards handspring.
- Side away from movement+Duck
- Side towards movement
- Repeat like your hands are on fire.
[edit] Mouse Tango
This is a dual mouse dance. It consists of two mice, one ducksliding forward and one ducksliding backwards next to each other in the same direction to give the impression that they are, in fact, doing the Tango.
